Pay? Like it.
Pay with someone else’s money?
Worship it.

Isaiah 1:1-27
Deuteronomy 1:38-2:1

The next aliyah reminds Israel of its reaction to the decree that they shall not enter Israel for forty years. Moreover, the children, those who did not yet know good from bad would take the land. But, were the children entirely off the hook? Their parents cost them their youth, certainly in the land, and possibly entirely.

Let’s ask some questions: How old would the youngest children be on entering the Land? What sort of environment would they be raised in? What did the Israelites of that generation have left to live for, and would this affect their behavior? Do their children make any difference?

What do you think these people taught their children while they were living in the wilderness?

Were the people thinking of their children when they refused to enter the land?

Final question: Is there a difference between talking about our children and thinking about our children?
