Does the parsha ask “why should we do these things?” Does Ezekiel answer “because you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your being”?

Why the prohibition against people with defects? I can understand why some of these conditions make it unwise for these people to slaughter a live bull, but why not allow them behind the curtain? Does Ezekiel answer “a lack of heart is the only defect”?

If we believe the Jebusite Hypothesis, does Ezekiel say “anyone with heart can become a priest”? Even an alien? Ezekiel singles out Zadok’s line from the Levites as “the priests”; does making Zadok an alien make this event more meaningful?
